Esther Levine, LPC

I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and have worked in the mental health field since 1999. My professional experience spans a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient psychiatric medication clinics, clinical supervision in community mental health services, behavioral health emergency services, and outpatient therapy within group practice settings. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), I bring over two decades of clinical experience supporting individuals through life's challenges. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, furthering my commitment to clinical excellence, professional development, and the advancement of the counseling profession.

My approach to counseling is eclectic and incorporates person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-focused interventions. I often use psychodynamic therapy, creating a space where we can safely explore the experiences that have shaped your life. In our first session, we'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy and find an approach that feels supportive for you. When working with children, I incorporate play and art-based interventions to encourage healthy expressions of their feelings and thoughts.

Areas of focus include but are not limited to working with individuals, children older than 8, families and couples with:

· Anxiety

· Relationship challenges

· Family conflict
