Katherine Brown, MA

Resident in Counseling

Hello! I earned my master’s in counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University and have been working in the mental health field since 2017. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. Mental health has been an important aspect of my life since I was a teenager and I have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others. I use various modalities depending on my client’s needs, and, like to collaborate with my clients as a team in order to create the best treatment plan for them. While the basis of my approach is person centered, I like to use techniques from different modalities including CBT, ACT, solution-focused, DBT, and play therapy techniques. I have experience working with children and teens who have suffered trauma and sexual abuse, with training in trauma-focused CBT. My passion lies with helping others overcome their mental health struggles so that they can live a life to its fullest potential! My areas of counseling and treatment include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life transitions (divorce, relocation, etc.)
  • Behavioral challenges/ parenting needs
  • Bullying
  • Low self-esteem
  • Trauma
  • Child and adolescent therapy
